Passengers shot on bus in KZN

A 52-year-old woman was killed and three others injured when unknown men opened fire on them in a bus in Newlands East, KwaZulu-Natal.

Lt. Col. Nqobile Gwala, spokesperson for the police, said the bus was traveling in Newlands West Drive on Wednesday when the shooting took place.

“According to paramedics, the passengers were traveling in a private bus when shooters opened fire on them. Three passengers were injured. A 52-year-old woman suffered fatal injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other victims were taken to a hospital.”

The bus transported commuters from Durban’s city center to Hill Grove.

The police are appealing for any eyewitnesses to come forward with information about the incident. All information will be treated confidentially.
