The Shimlas will battle it out on their home field against the Ikeys for Varsity Cup glory after the two teams finished with the Maties and the NWU-Pukke respectively.
Both wins were achieved away from home.
Ikeys beat defending champion team in Potchefstroom
The Ikeys played a cracking game against the Pukke at the Fanie du Toit sports ground to beat the defending champions 32-18.
The half-time score was 14–8 in the Capetians’ favour.
Ntokozo Makhaza was in the spotlight with five set-piece attempts, while Duran Koevort scored two tries.

Shimlas score five tries in Stellenbosch
The Shimlas’ forwards laid the foundation for their eventual victory of 38-24 against the Maties in Stellenbosch.
The Bloemfontein visitors especially turned on the points after the break and they enjoyed a lead of 29-12 at one stage.
Maties was able to fight back later with a try or two, but Zane Bester’s intercept try was the final nail in the coffin.
