Kitshoff on crutches

Not only did Ulster lose its Champions Cup quarter-final against Clermont 53 – 14, but it also lost a number of players to injuries.

Steven Kitshoff (knee), Iain Henderson (toe), Rob Herring (hamstring), Nick Timoney (toe) and Stewart Moore (hamstring) are all on the crutches list and unavailable for Friday’s United Rugby Championship clash against Cardiff.

The Irish club has not confirmed for how long the Springbok prop will be on the sidelines and there is even a possibility that he played his last game for the Belfast team.

The 32-year-old prop can be seen again in the colors of the Stormers from next season.

“It’s no secret what Cape Town and the Stormers mean to me. From next season I will do everything in my power to make a difference and hopefully I can be part of something special again with my friends and family by my side,” Kitshoff said at the time.

“I also want to thank Ulster; not only for the incredible experience in Belfast, but also for their help and understanding throughout the process. There are still many things we can achieve together this season.”
